Bear creek park

  

I recently visited at Bear Creek Park which is situated at 13750 88 Avenue, Surrey, BC V3W 3L1. It provides numerous activities and facilities for visitors like playgrounds, gardens and a mini train ride for people of all ages. During summer, people can enjoy a swimming pool which is situated outdoors. The park also has a running track, area for dogs, a playground for soccer and football and other sports. 

The natural view of the park relaxes the mind and body and it's a house of numerous birds and animals like bears, coyotes, bald eagles, and peregrine falcons. But honestly, I saw only rabbits and squirrels because I didn't get the chance to explore the whole park due to the construction work going on there. But this park still offers many opportunities for exploration and enjoyment.

While exploring the park, I found a stone where I found a poem which I would like to share with you it's called Poetry Rock

Rev. Dr. Byung Sub Van | 2009

The engraved poem "Mere Water Am I" was composed, originally in Korean, by Surrey resident Rev. Byung Sub Van. The poem addresses the universal theme of water in its many forrns and uses water as a metaphor to celebrate social unity and cultural diversity. This work was a gift to the people of Surrey from Rev. Van, his family, dear friends, and his sponsors: Mainland Sand and Gravel Ltd, Eagle West Cranes, and Elder Yoo Sung Lee.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Rev. Dr. Byung Sub Van is an ordained United Church minister from South Korea. He immigrated to Canada in 1969, continued to study theology to a Doctorate and in 1992 moved with his family to Surrey. He has published a number of books and received numerous literary awards. (this is written on stone).
